Why Your Skin Needs a Strategy (Not TikTok Trends)

In today’s beauty space, TikTok trends come and go faster than ever. With every scroll, there’s a new treatment taking the spotlight: Sculptra, salmon sperm, lasers, and more. No wonder people are feeling confused and hesitant to commit.

At Everything Skin, we’re seeing more and more clients stuck in what we call analysis paralysis. And we get it. With so much hype out there, it’s easy to second-guess what your skin needs. But here’s the truth: not every trending treatment is right for your skin. Chasing hype can lead to lacklustre results or, worse, long-term disappointment.

That’s why we believe in strategy over trends.

Every Treatment Has a Place, But Not Every Treatment Is for You

There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to skin. Different treatments target different layers, concerns, and outcomes. Choosing the wrong one can do more harm than good. Let’s break it down.

Threads Might Not Be Right for a Slim Face

Thread lifts can provide support and stimulate collagen production, helping to maintain a youthful appearance. But for faces with low volume and minimal tissue, they may not be the best choice. Threads can:

  • Create sharp or hollow contours
  • Pull too tight, making the face appear gaunt
  • Offer a little lift if there’s nothing to anchor into

In such cases, gentle volume restoration or regenerative treatments, such as biostimulators, collagen devices, or strategic fillers, may be more effective. They work with your face, not against it.

Sculptra or Rejuran Aren’t Always the First Step

Sculptra and Rejuran are known for their collagen-stimulating benefits. But they’re not ideal for every skin type.

For example, if your skin is leathery, sun-damaged, or has deep wrinkles, these treatments may not give you the change you’re hoping for. That’s because:

  • The underlying structure is already compromised
  • Results are subtle and take time
  • Texture issues might need resurfacing first

In this scenario, we recommend using a CO2 fractional laser as the first step. It helps resurface the skin, tighten tissue, and rebuild collagen at a deeper level, laying the groundwork for better results with injectables later on.

TikTok Isn’t Your Skin Therapist

There’s a lot of advice online. Some of it is helpful, but much of it is misleading. Skincare is personal, and what works for one person may not work well for you. Your face deserves more than a viral trend.

Strategy Beats Hype, Every Time

At Everything Skin, our goal is to create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your skin’s unique history, structure, and goals, not what’s currently trending. We combine the right tools in the correct order for the best long-term results.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by social media advice or unsure about your next step, don’t worry. Book a consultation with us, and we’ll walk you through it. Great skin comes from clarity, not confusion.
